SOUTH UPI, Maguindanao --- Mayoralty bets from this town vowed for a peaceful election come May 13, 2019 following the signing of a ‘peace covenant’ last March 11 held at the municipal gymnasium.aa
Susan U. Cabanban, election officer of South Upi, said the intention of the activity is to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of elections.

“We would want them to be committed to this covenant, our four mayoralty bets. To the local residents, should you have different choices of leaders that should not be a hindrance for you not to be united,” Cabanban said.

Mayor Reynalbert O. Insular said he is seeing a positive response from the rest of his contenders.

“I believe we all have a sincere intent to truly serve the public. Let us give everyone an equal chance to run and give a good fight,” he said.

Other mayoralty bets, Vice-Mayor Abdullah A. Campong, Atty. Ruben R. Platon and Deonato Mokudef also affirmed their support and commitment towards peaceful and honest elections. (Anne Acosta)
