City Admin Dr. Danda Juanday attends a meeting with ILO.

COTABATO CITY - City Administrator Dr. Danda N. Juanday attends a meeting with the International Labour Organization, an international NGO specializing in providing technical assistance to communities in Cotabato City and the ARMM by conducting livelihood trainings to its constituents, on Monday, September 5, 2016.

The ILO, headed by its Enterprise Development Specialist Mr. Hideki Kagohashi, is soliciting valuable information from several stakeholders regarding how they can help in developing the value chain of priority industries in this part of the country.

This organization can provide training assistance to existing industries so that they will be able to strengthen their marketing skills and connect to institutions that can help for their further improvement.

The Programme for Local Economic Development through Enhanced Governance and Grassroots Empowerment (PLEDGE) is the arm of ILO that conducts the livelihood programs and has already started in some communities in the ARMM. They are providing trainings in the production of food and non-food products that come from local resources.

Dr. Danda, in his message, emphasized the need for the prioritization of the HALAL. Stakeholders from Cotabato City and in the ARMM must help one another in promoting Halal industries and products.

He seeks the help of the DTI and other government agencies like the DA to really make the move in pushing for the integration of Halal in the priority projects of the government wherein not only the Muslims can benefit from, but also the Non-Muslim communities of the country.
