Assorted loose firearms handed-over in Talitay

CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao – Another loose firearms were handed-over to Alpha Company of 90th Infantry Battalion in a simple turnover ceremony held in respective barangays of Talitay, Maguindanao.

Accordingly, on February 28 and  March 1 and 2, 2019, 1lt Bladimer Suanque, Commanding Officer of Alpha Company, 90IB received a total of 9 assorted loose firearms from the residents of  Brgy Poblacion, Brgy Pageda, Brgy Kilalan, Brgy Macadayon, Brgy Manggay and Brgy Kiladap all of Talitay town.

The successful handed over of assorted loose firearms is a result of a joint effort between the Army troopers and the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) of Talitay through communication and coordination led by ABC President Datu Fajad Midtimbang.  

Handed over were two M16 riffle, five shotguns, one homemade M14 rifle and one locally made .38 caliber pistol with assorted magazines and ammunitions.

"The handover of firearms is a continuing campaign against the proliferation of loose firearms in the area of 603rd Infantry Brigade," said Ltc Crizanto Fernandez, Commanding Officer of 90IB.

Major General Cirilito E. Sobejana, Commander of the 6th Infantry Division expressed his gratitude to the efforts of the ABC of Talitay and its constituents for extending their support of the 6ID’s campaign against loose firearms.

As of this day, a total of 2,025 were handed over and recovered in the areas of 6ID. (6th ID – MINDANAO EXPOSE’)
