DATU SALIBO, Maguindanao --- Amid the ongoing Covid-19 global pandemic crisis and the implementation of ‘no mass gatherings’ as well as social distancing, the supposed 11th founding anniversary celebration of this locality last August 18, has turned to be a simple gathering, a boodle fight.
Organized by Vice-Mayor Herodin Guiamano, the simple celebration was participated by the municipal employees, department heads and staff.
In an interview, Vice-Mayor Guiamano said that due to the crisis, they have decided to only hold a simple short program in respect to the creation or birth of their locality.
“The municipal government existed for 11 years and only last February of this year, when we finally received our Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) on a regular basis,” he said.
Vice-Mayor added that with the existence of the IRA, there’s no reason for them (Mayor Dr. Solaiman Sandigan) not to implement more projects that would uplift the living condition of their constituents.
“Together with our active Mayor Sandigan, we do our best to sustain the needs of this infant locality in terms of development through infrastucture projects. In fact, the upgrading, concreting and widening of municipal road from barangay Butalo up to Barangay Sambolawan, going to the municipal hall building is now ongoing, and our target completion is within two months for the comfortability of our commuters,” he claimed.
The vice-mayor also took the opportunity to thank Maguindanao governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu and 2nd district Congressman Esmael “Toto” G. Mangudadatu on their continued support and commitment to Datu Salibo.
