BTA Parliamentleads rice aid distribution in Poona Piagapo

POONA PIAGAPO, Lanao del Norte --- Around 3,600 beneficiaries received one sack (25 kilograms) of rice aid from the Bangsamoro government during recent“Project TABANG”relief operation in this town, led by select members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament.

Attendees during simple ceremonial turn-over ceremony were several Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Members of Parliament (MP), Moro Islamic Liberation Front leaders and other local officials including Jamael Ilupa of the Office of the Chief Minister, Municipal Councilor  Alibasher  Mustapha, MILF Provincial Chairman Ibrahim Digl, MILF Municipal Chairpersons Alibasher Maganuna and H. Ansary Macapodi, United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) Municipal Chairman Muslimin Bangon, Commanding Officer of the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion Lt.Col. Domingo Dulay, barangay officials, staff and volunteers of MPs Said Shiek, Abdullah Macapaar, Marjanie  Mimbantas and Mohammad Zainoden Bato.

In his message, MP Shiek encouraged the youth to continue their good deeds through helping their fellow Bangsamoros.

"Mas lalo niyo pang pag-igihan. Talagang makakamit niyo rin ang bunga ng mabubuti ninyo ng gawa," he said.

In addition, MP Mimbantas narrated his experiences as a volunteer and conveyed his high hopes for the youths of Lanao.

"Maaaring sa ngayon ay mga volunteers kayo. Ngunit  sa susunod na henerasyon, kayo na ang magdadala o mamamahala sa Bangsamoro Government," he added.

Mohammad Pandapatan, the designated team leader of the relief operation of the Office of MP Said Shiek (OMPSS) was elated for the unending support of the various organizations who served as their work force in the continuous relief operations in Lanao areas.

"Ito ang isa sa pinakamahirap na lugar na napuntahan namin. Karamihan sa mga barangay ay walang signal. Malalayo at maputik ang daanan. Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa ating MILF leaders sa bayan ng Poona Piagapo at sa aming volunteers na nanguna sa paghahatid ng tag-isang sakong bigas sa bawat pamilya sa lahat ng sulok ng bayan ng Poona Piagapo. Salamat din sa aming boss MPs na dumalo at gumabay sa distribusyon."

MP Macapaar has also expressed his admiration for the dedication and commitment of the MILF to fight and protect the rights of the Bangsamoro in this town.

Meanwhile, the OMPSS spearheaded the relief operation with the assistance of the offices of  MPs Abdullah Macapaar and Marjanie Mimbantas, volunteers from Momungan Youth Action Network  (MYAN), Coalition of Moro Youth Movement (CMYM), Bangsamoro Youth Alliance of Saber sa Rapadan and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) that includes its Political Committee (PolCom), Social Welfare Committee (SWC) and Provincial Police Force.

Furthermore, this town covers 26 barangays in which the relief operation was divided into 32 clustered areas. Simultaneously, the team had also setup the two Volunteer Command Centers in barangays of Pened and Poblacion. 

The distribution areas under the Command Center in Poblacion were Tangclao, Nunungan, Pianga-Mangaan, Pantaon, Cablangan, Cadayonan, Cabasaran Main, Cabasaran - Bubonga Radapan, Pantao-Raya, Pantao Raya - Lumbacainged, Poblacion Main, Poblacion Punud, Poblacion Radapan, Lupitan, Daramba Main, DarambaLindongan, Nunang, PantarCormatan, BubongCormatan, SundigCormatan, Sulo, Madamba, Lumbatan, Bubong Dinaig and Dinaig. On the other hand, the distribution areas under the Volunteer Command Center 2 in Pened were Linindingan, Pendolonan, Timbangalan, Tagoranao, Maliwanag, Madaya, Pened and Alowin.

Moreover, MILF PolCom Provincial Chairman Ustad Ibrahim expressed his gratitude for the relief efforts of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). 

"Ilang taon lang ang lumipas noong tayo'y nasa kagubatan at nakikipaglaban, pero tingnan niyo naman ngayon, nandito na tayo. Hindi natin ito maaabot kung wala ang guidance ng Allah at mga sa kripisyo ninyo. Mula sa taas (MILF Central Committee) ha

nggang sa ground (Military) ay lubos ang aming pasasalamat sa leadership ni Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim."

A mother beneficiary Aclima Casulog was delighted upon reaching the time of release of rice assistance during the distribution in their barangay, Bobung Cormatan. While carrying her two months old child, she extended her gratefulness to the volunteers and staff, most especially to the Bangsamoro Government upon receiving one half sack of rice 

"Hindi po nakapunta ang aking asawa sa pagkat maaga pa ay nasa bukid na siya upang magsaka kaya ako na ang pumunta para personal natanggapin ang ayuda. Mabuti at nakahabol pa po ako. Napakalaking tulong po nito sa aming pamilya. Nagpapasalamat po ako sa BARMM, staff at volunteers na pumunta dito sa aming lugar," she said. 

Prior to the relief distribution, the OMPSS conducted a coordination meeting with the MILF leaders, courtesy visit to Poona Piagapo Town Mayor Muslima T. Macol and orientation with the identified barangay focal persons last August 6, 7 and 9, respectively.
