COTABATO CITY --- The Cotabato City Police Office (CCPO) in
partnership with the City Government of Cotabato held a Drug Summit last August
11, bannering the theme “Drogang Mapamoksa Katapat ay Mamamayan at Pulisyang
may Tapang at Puso,” which was attended by barangay officials, city councilors,
and local government employees.
The drive against
illegal drugs is being intensified in the city through education and
information dissemination following the mandate of the Duterte administration.
The summit answered
various queries from the participants on what to do or how to deal with
situations relative to illegal drug trade.
The activity also focused
on discussions on illegal drug awareness and lectures on other pressing
criminality issues facilitated by the CCPO.
City Administrator Dr.
Danda Juanday assured the participants of the police efforts in stamping out
illegal drugs and drug trade in the city. “The city government is doing
something to eradicate illegal drug trade, so is the police… Hand in hand, let
us help one another to make Cotabato a drug-free city.”
Vice Mayor Atty. Frances
Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi urged the participants, especially the barangay officials,
to help eliminate illegal drugs in the city.
She expressed hope that the
summit inputs will further strengthen the administration’s fight against drugs.
“We are optimistic that through the summit, the implementation of the program
will be a success through cooperation and proper coordination among Cotabateños.”
