COTABATO
CITY--September 2- Oftentimes we see these Badjao children along the streets
asking for food and money from random people.
Yes,
your city government sees them and notices how they flock the city in groups.
We know that some of them even cause inconveniences. But slowly, through the
Office on Social Welfare and Development, these kids are given the attention
that they need.
Through
activities like feeding programs, we are able to get to know them and get their
profiles. Our social workers got to talk and connect to our Badjao brothers and
sisters.
The
main goal is to establish rapport and eventually teach them vital things to
improve their self-esteem and self-worth.
The
city government, with the help of the DSWD, is formulating a plan on how to
make these Badjao children and their families more productive so they may be
able to be part of the development of our city.
One
step at a time. Soon, we will get there. (CITY GOVERNMENT OF COTABATO-MINDANAO
