Hundreds of indigent elementary pupils
benefit from the free school kits that the City Government has distributed,
Monday morning, July 11.
About 300 school bags containing notebooks,
pens, envelopes, and other school supplies were given to these indigent pupils
through the Office on Social Welfare and Development Cotabato City.
According to City Social Welfare Officer
Cheribin Viloria, each kit is worth 500 pesos. This is also the first time that
the city government gave school kits to the pupils. But in the past years, the
same amount is given to them in the form of cash assistance.
The city government is also expected to
extend cash assistance to hundreds of indigent highschool students in Cotabato
City in the following weeks.
This project is being implemented by the City
Government of Cotabato with the leadership of Mayor Japal Guiani, Jr. as part
of its goal of supporting the education of pupils and students in Cotabato
City.
