6ID commander witness’s turnover of Cotabato to BARMM

Major General Juvymax Uy, commander of 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Joint Task Force Central (JTFC), attended the ceremonial turnover of Cotabato City and 63 barangays of North Cotabato to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on Tuesday, December 15, at Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, Bangsamoro Government Center, Cotabato City.

MGen Uy said that “the troops of JTFC and 6th Infantry Division will remain in the areas of Central Mindanao to sustain peace and stability, in coordination with the respective local government units (LGUs) and local government agencies.

“Our security forces will remain on alert at all times despite the pandemic and the celebration of yuletide season. Rest assured that any major threat in the BARMM region will be addressed accordingly,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ahod ‘Al Haj Murad’ Ebrahim also expressed his commitment in upscaling services that will further boost the potential of Cotabato City, unique with its own context, and in support to its existing resources.

Also in attendance were Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año, Police General Debold Sinas, PNP Chief, OPPAP Secretary Carlito Galvez represented by Undersecretary David Diciano, and Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr, commander of Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom).

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) was established when the Bangsamoro Organic Law was ratified through a plebiscite on the first quarter of 2019. The BARMM government replaced the former Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. (DPAO, MINDANAO EXPOSE’)
