SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao --- The local
government here is again an awardee of the “Seal of Good Local Governance
(SGLG)” for 2019 as cited by the Department of the Interior and Local
Government as it entered, among other LGUs such as Buldon, Matanog, Barira,
Datu Paglas, Upi, and Datu Abdullah Sangki in Maguindanao, the “Hall of Famer”
after begetting the prestige for three consecutive years since 2017.
This
the municipal mayor, Datu Shameem Biruar Mastura, announced during the joint
meeting of the Municipal Peace and Order Council and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse
Council last November 4 held at the Municipal Hall building.
His
announcement came a day before the national awarding of the 2019 SGLG on
November 5 at Manila Hotel. The mayor personally received the award.
Mayor
Mastura, whose father, Datu Tocao O. Mastura, was the former municipal mayor
for many terms and now a Member of the Parliament of the Bangsamoro Transition
Authority, doubly announced that their
municipality is also awarded the “Child Friendly Governance” by the Ministry of
the Interior and Local Government in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
The
child-friendly award ceremony was held last November 4 at the Shariff Kabunsuan
Cultural Complex in Cotabato City.
As a
SGLG awardee, the recipient will receive a cash incentive of P2.3 million which
can be used for developmental or impact projects. Previously, the cash award
was P3.2 million.
The
mayor said: “These awards are not for me alone. I dedicate these for you my
people. I am so proud and thankful to all of you.”
In
that joint meeting, the mayor congratulated the municipal government and its
departments and support agencies, as well as the barangay officials, for their
contribution in achieving the feats of government performance which, he said,
also improved the delivery of basic services.
“I
thank all of you for the support extended to my administration and because we
in this locality are united in working hand in hand together for our common
goal and vision,” the mayor said. (Anne Acosta)
