Sultan Kudarat LGU now ‘Famer & Friendly’

SULTAN KUDARAT, Maguindanao --- The local government here is again an awardee of the “Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG)” for 2019 as cited by the Department of the Interior and Local Government as it entered, among other LGUs such as Buldon, Matanog, Barira, Datu Paglas, Upi, and Datu Abdullah Sangki in Maguindanao, the “Hall of Famer” after begetting the prestige for three consecutive years since 2017.

This the municipal mayor, Datu Shameem Biruar Mastura, announced during the joint meeting of the Municipal Peace and Order Council and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council last November 4 held at the Municipal Hall building.

His announcement came a day before the national awarding of the 2019 SGLG on November 5 at Manila Hotel. The mayor personally received the award.

Mayor Mastura, whose father, Datu Tocao O. Mastura, was the former municipal mayor for many terms and now a Member of the Parliament of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority,  doubly announced that their municipality is also awarded the “Child Friendly Governance” by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The child-friendly award ceremony was held last November 4 at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex in Cotabato City.

As a SGLG awardee, the recipient will receive a cash incentive of P2.3 million which can be used for developmental or impact projects. Previously, the cash award was P3.2 million.

The mayor said: “These awards are not for me alone. I dedicate these for you my people. I am so proud and thankful to all of you.”

In that joint meeting, the mayor congratulated the municipal government and its departments and support agencies, as well as the barangay officials, for their contribution in achieving the feats of government performance which, he said, also improved the delivery of basic services.

“I thank all of you for the support extended to my administration and because we in this locality are united in working hand in hand together for our common goal and vision,” the mayor said. (Anne Acosta)
