HOPEFUL AWARDEE --- Vice
Mayor Al-Fizzar Allandatu Angas extends the municipal government’s service
commitment to the constituency following SGLG validation by a team of
validators last August 27. (Anne B. Acosta).
SULTAN SA BARONGIS,
Maguindanao --- There is "high hope” that the local government of
this town will be one among the top lists of awardees in the Seal of Good Local
Governance (SGLG) for year 2019 following validation process last August 27 by
a combined team from the Department of the Interior and Local Government ---
those from the central office, Region-12, and Maguindanao in the Bangsamoro
Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The
team of six-man validators was led by Local Government Operations Officer VII
Bai Musarapha A. Alim, MPA, from Region-12.
Bai Alim said being validated by the team are the
qualifying areas on Good Financing Housekeeping; Peace and Order; Social Protection;
Environmental Management; Disaster Preparedness; Business Competitiveness;
Tourism; and Culture and Arts.
Alim
said the validation process was well articulated and documented and so far “so
good” as she told the mayor, vice mayor,
and Liga ng mga Barangay chairman, this early, to prepare their official
regional attire for the 2019 SGLG award rites in Manila this month or October.
“I’m very optimistic, based on our validated
reports, that your municipality is among the top lists in the 2019 SGLG.
And I wish that the three of you --- Municipal Mayor Ramdatu M. Angas,
Municipal Vice Mayor Al-fizzar Allandatu Angas, and Liga President Allandatu M.
Angas --- could be present during the
prestigious event and receive the SGLG award,” Alim said.
Sultan
sa Barongis is among the 16 local government units, including the Maguindanao
provincial government, in the BARMM to have undergone the process of validation. The result of the
complete assessment validation and recommendation by the Ministry of the
Interior and Local Government – BARMM to the national level is expected to be
out in the last week of September.
OIC-Mayor
Al-Fizzar Allandatu Angas expressed his thankfulness after the validation record included their locality as already one
among the top lists.
“Even
though there are two remaining steps,
those from the MILG-BARMM and the national awards committee, we remain
very optimistic to have surpassed the qualifying SGLG criteria. But because of
our strong determination, hard work, and united efforts, there is no reason for
us not to make it to the top,” he said.
“And
I would like also to take this opportunity to thank the Sultan sa Barongis LGU family, to my
fellow hard-working public servants for your untiring support for the success
of this administration.
Without your support, we could hardly cruise
this challenge and carve our place in the map. I would like also to inform
everybody that our services and mandates to the people of this town will not
end in this achievement alone as we continue onwards working together for the
betterment of this locality,” he said.
He challenged the constituency to aim
high for the future of their young generation and for the progress of their
locality. “We are working not only for ourselves, for our local chief
executive, but for all of us living in this town. This is the very important
thing for us to do.”
He
also gave assurance to the DILG, both the central office and in the BARMM, that
“we are going to continue working together to maintain and sustain what we have
achieved right now, especially on good governance as mandated from us.”
Among the other SGLG validators are Mel
Roy B. Manait and Irene T, Abdula (central office), Lucia A. Alipunga and
Faidza A. Kalanduyan (Region-12), and Engr. Amina Dalandag from Maguindanao. (Anne
