The resource persons of the activity were Muhamad Jujairi Abdullah and Augustine Leonard, Secretary of the Senate and Research Officer of the Parliament of Malaysia, respectively, and Dr. Muhamad Sayuti, Senior Lecturer in the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), Malaysia.

In the pursuit of offering excellent delivery of public services in the
Bangsamoro, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament conducted a
three-day training on ‘Parliamentary Rules and Procedures’ for its members and
chiefs of staff on February 22 to 24 in Cotabato City.
Prof.
Raby Angkal, BTA Secretary-General, said the training was designed on the basis
of Bangsamoro Government’s objectives, efforts and struggle to help attain the
Chief Minister’s ‘Moral Governance’ in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in
Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Angkal
added that the aim of the training was for the BTA members to understand
further the “basic concepts in Parliament, composition in the Parliament, and
Parliament-related legislation and documents,” among others.

Chief
Minister Ahod Ebrahim expressed his gratitude to the Malaysian delegates in his
speech read on his behalf by Executive BARMM Secretary Abdulraof Macacua.
“I
would like to thank our Malaysian brothers who sincerely and dedicatedly help
us in enhancing our capability in the field of legislation and for sharing with
us the Malaysian setting on legislation matters,” the Chief Minister said.
“We are
grateful that we are now seeing our colleagues in the BTA discuss and debate
over issues that truly affect our homeland, … we are now seeing a government
that’s truly transparent and competent to carry out issues that have been long
ignored,” he further added.
The
three-day activity was conducted in partnership with The Asia Foundation and supported by the Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade of the Australian Government through its project the
“Cohesion, Advocacy, Resilience, and Expansive Engagement (CARE) for Peace. (OFFICE
