COTABATO CITY --- Health care
providers in Maguindanao are now equipped with modern facilities to respond to
the health needs of their constituents.
This,
as the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) turned over some
P16.2 million worth of medical equipment to various rural and barangay health
stations in the province of Maguindanao lqast February 14.
The
distribution of the medical equipment was made through the BARMM’s Humanitarian
and Development Assistance Program (HDAP).
“The
Bangsamoro government is pleased to inform everyone that we are determined in
improving the public health condition of the BARMM,” BARMM Chief Minister Ahod
“Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim said in a statement read by Cabinet Secretary Mohammad
Asnin Pendatun.
“As I
have always emphasized, our priority is to improve the well-being of our
people; to ensure access to quality health care services, education, and social
welfare,” Ebrahim said.
Ebrahim
assured that the BARMM will continue to finish the remaining programs of the
defunct Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and it “shall be done consistent
with our call for moral governance.”
Among
the beneficiaries of the medical facilities are five rural health units of the
towns of Datu Piang, Talayan, Datu Salibo, Mamasapano, and Talitay in
Maguindanao’s second congressional district.
A total
of 34 Barangay Health Units also received medical equipment. (EDWIN
