COTABATO CITY --- The Cotabato City Police Office (CCPO) continues to strengthen its partnership with community sectors through significant activities in line with the 24th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month.
The CCPO, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Cotabato East, City Government of Cotabato, and the City Advisory Council, held last July 27 the "Poster-making and Spoken Poetry Competitions" at the City Mall entertainment area.

Fourteen junior high school students, together with their coaches from different public and private schools, participated in the "Poster-making" contest, while 12 students joined the "Spoken Poetry" competition.

Following the result of poster-making contest, Trisha Andrea Ampatuan of Notre Dame University - Junior High School was hailed 'champion' followed by second placer, Twinkle Abella of Notre Dame Village National High School, and third placer, Mohamidin Mamalapat of Notre Dame RVM.

For the Spoken Poetry, contest recipients were Arabella B. Besas of Canizares National High School (first placer), Sittie Hannan M. Ganatan of Agape School (second), and  Jabar B. Ely of Notre Dame RVM (third).

Each winner received a certificate and cash prize courtesy of City Mayor Frances Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi, while non-winners received consolation prizes.

City Police Director Col. Portia B. Manalad expressed her deepest thanks and gratitude for the unending support of their partners, most especially to the city government headed by Mayor Guiani, the City Advisory Council, and the Rotary Club of Cotabato East.

'Your unending support made the Poster Making and Spoken Word Poetry Competitions so successful and meaningful," Manalad said.

Ya-el Sanday Ebus, club president of the Rotary Club of Cotabato East, lauded the efforts of  the CCPO as it has been "more engaging" with the community.

"We hope to collaborate more project partnerships with you in the future. Programs like this feels so much more other than the visibility of our policemen. Thank you for always securing first the safety of our fellow Cotabateños," Ebus said.

Meanwhile, The first and second placers for the poster-making contest will represent the city during regional competition in General Santos City. (GILMHAR LAO / MINDANAO EXPOSE’)
