Shariff Aguak LGU condemns burning of icons of a catholic chapel


SHARIFF AGUAK, MAGUINDANAO --- The municipal Government of Shariff Aguak condemns in its highest form the burning of religious icons of a Catholic Chapel last weekend situated in Brgy. Labu-labu Mother, this town.

Mayor Marop B. Ampatuan ordered the immediate and thorough investigation, and place the perpetrators behind bars.

“We will never allow this to happen again. We are doing our best to make this town a better place to live in,” Mayor Ampatuan said.

Local police said they have yet to identify suspects and motives behind the burning. Nobody has claimed responsibility for the incident.

P/SSupt. Agustin Tello, Maguindanao provincial police chief, said during interview that the investigation is still on going.

Meanwhile, Mayor Ampatuan has also announced previously he is going to give a reward of P50,000.00 for any information that would lead to the arrest of the offenders.(GILMHAR A. LAO & ANNE ACOSTA - MINDANAO EXPOSE’)
