City Officials prep up for 57th Araw ng Cotabato


COTABATO CITY (May 17) --- Cotabato City officials, local law enforcers, and partners from the private sector talks about the initial preparations for the celebration of the 57th Araw ng Cotabato.

This festival is commemorated with week-long activities and is highlighted by the annual search for the Mutya ng Cotabato and the Grand Civic-Military Parade on June 20th, the actual day of the anniversary.

Since the Holy Month of Ramadan also falls on June this year, several activities have been adjusted for the benefit of the Muslim communities in Cotabato City.

The City Government is also planning to tie up with the 37 barangays for them to hold a nightly Iftar or the breaking of the fast of our Muslim brothers and sisters.

A 2-day halal forum will also be conducted with several business groups engaged in halal enterprises as the city's way of promoting halal products and services.

Cotabato City is seen as the future hub of Halal in Region 12.
Furthermore, the conduct of activities like the Culinary Competition, Boat Race, and Sports Festival was also discussed during the meeting. (Halima K. Satol-Ibrahim)

P11-million farm equipment distributes to farmers and fisherfolks.




COTABATO CITY - A total of Php11,426,000 worth of farm inputs, equipment and machineries were distributed to farmers and fisher folks across the region on Wednesday, May 18 in Cotabato City.

The items distributed were 400 bags of certified palay seed, pesticide and fertilizer. Several units of rice transplanters, floating tillers and hand tractors were also distributed.

The distribution was part of the celebration of the 2016 Farmers and Fisherfolks' Month and 25th Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF)-ARMM Devolution Anniversary.

Alexander Alonto, Jr., DAF-ARMM secretary said the celebration was aimed at recognizing and honoring farmers and fisher folks in the ARMM for their valuable contribution in the economy of the country. (Bureau of Public Information)

Negosyo Center Open in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY (May 18, 2016 - Mindanao Expose’)-- The City Government of Cotabato congratulates the Department of Trade and Industry for successfully opening their Negosyo Center Wednesday morning in Cotabato City.

The Negosyo Center aims to help the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the City and in its neighboring towns to find a larger market by equipping them with significant knowledge through a series of trainings.

The Negosyo Center will also serve as the venue of these trainings aside from the regular business consultations that interested individuals or groups will be able to get from its personnel.

In his facebook account posted Wednesday night, Cotabato City Mayor Japal J. Guiani, Jr expressed his gratitude to the DTI for establishing the Negosyo Center here. He said the city government will be closely coordinating with the DTI to further develop the city's economic growth.

The Negosyo Center in Cotabato City is the 7th branch in the whole Region XII.
