Mamasapano observes 19th Founding Day

MAMASAPANO, Maguindanao --- This municipal government celebrated the town’s 19th Foundation Anniversary last October 31 with a week-long festive activities.

Mayor Tahirodin Benzar Ampatuan said “we started our week-long activities since October 25 by hosting the Zone Athletic Meet. We also had the Mayor’s Night full of fun and entertainment.”

He said they also had a two-day medical mission (October 30 and 31) which   catered to some 3,000 walk-in patients.

“The patients availed of eye check-up, dental service, and surgical consultation.  Aside from that, we also had blood-letting joined by the Black Hawk and Canary organizations as well as the Eagles’ Club of Cotabato City,” the mayor narrated.

“Edukasyon ay Pahalagahan, Kalasugan ay Pakaingatan, Droga ay Labanan tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan” was the anniversary theme.

Dr.Tahir Sulaik, chief of the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO)-Maguindanao, said he was pleased by the active leadership of Mayor Ampatuan.

“I commend his being hands-on in all of their activities, most especially during the conduct of the two-day ‘Libreng Gamutan,” Dr.Sulaik said.

Mamasapano is politically subdivided into 15 barangays: Bagumbong, Dabenayan, Daladap, Dasikil, Liab, Libutan, Lusay, Mamasapano, Manongkaling, Matias, Pidsandawan, Pimbalakan, Sapakan, Tuka, and Tukanalipao.(GILMHAR A. LAO & ANNE ACOSTA– MINDANAO EXPOSE’)
