Kapatagan celebrates 36th Founding Day

KAPATAGAN, Lanao del Sur ---This municipal government steps another milestone as it celebrated its 36^th Foundation Anniversary last February 8 held at the municipal grounds.

Mayor Nhazruddin B. Maglangit said during a simple culmination program that as the municipal government notched another year, the people of Kapatagan binding to oneness and camaraderie is their steadfast eagerness to pursue peace and progress.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Kapatagan and stakeholders, especially to the autonomous regional government, province of Lanao del Sur, national agencies and non-government organization, for your unfailing support to our programs, projects, and activities,” Mayor Maglangit said.

Mayor Maglangit said that with the collaborative effort of everyone, they were able to achieve the prestigious awards --- the 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance, Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping, and Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance 2017 --- awarded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Kapatagan also won 3^rd place for the “Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan 2017” given by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

“Let’s join hand and reunite ourselves making our stand towards peace and progress to our beloved Kapatagan. Let’s actively support the government as well as the authorities in preserving peace and calmness in our locality,” he said.

Vice-Mayor Raida Bansil Maglangit said the slogan “Kapatagan, A Place of Choice” has proved that their efforts through the years have truly paid off.

“In spite of our past experience, we strive hard to achieve our vision to a better Kapatagan. As we march on the road towards inclusive growth and with its beat comes the imperative that we continue to collaborate to achieve peace and progress. Let’s re-establish best practices on the culture of peace and elevate our consistency and quality of service. This virtuous cycle allows us to realize equitable progress and empower our people to achieve their goals,” Vice-Mayor Maglangit said.

ARMM Vice-Governor Haroun Alrashid A. Lucman, Jr., who was the guest of honour and speaker in the event, said: “I commend the efforts of men and women of Kapatagan in their dedication and commitment to serve and deliver good governance and services to their constituents.” (GILMHAR A.
