THE City
Engineers’ Office (CEO) has started implementing the new infrastructure
projects in Cotabato City for this year.
City Engineer Samuel Jorolan said the city
government allocated P8 million for these infrastructure projects.
Among
these are concreting of San Antonio Street in Rosary Heights 11, Rupu Maniara Street going to L.R Sebastian
Elementary School, Yap-Sia Street in Rosary
Heights 10, Delcano Street in Rosary Heights 10, and Concha Drive in Rosary Heights 3. Each costs P500,000.
Also included is the concreting of
Quiñones Street in Rosary Heights 12 with a P1 million allocation.
The city government
has allocated P1,500,000 for earth filling at Poblacion 9 going to the dumpsite
and another P4 million for the barangay streets in the city.
Engr. Jorolan said that they have other priority
projects for this year: the reblocking of roads along Don Rufino Alonzo (Magallanes)
Street, Makakua Street, and Almonte Street.
The CEO will
also engage in vegetation control on the city streets and cleaning activity at
the city drainages along downtown area for the whole year.
It is also
expecting that the government will have separate allocation for special projects
that will start in March this year.`
Jorolan said that they are looking forward
to other special projects supported by the Chinese investors such as the
construction of an airport at Tamontaka 3 and 4, the construction of city port
at Kalanganan 2 (Timako area) and the construction of sports complex,
gymnasium, school buildings, and laboratories at Rosary Heights 9. (ARIANE ROY
