SERVICE DAY

SERVICE DAY --- The ARMM government marked the 3rd year commemoration of the Mamasapano incident with the conduct of the 23rd ARMM People's Day last January 25 at the town gymnasium in Mamasapano, Maguindanao under the headship of Mayor Benzar Tahirodin Ampatuan (3rd from left).

The regional line-agencies of the ARMM and their provincial counterparts provided free services to the people of Mamasapano that included dental and medical check-up, diabetes and hypertension screening, eye screening, land titling, legal counseling for farmer beneficiaries, supplemental feeding, and haircut.

A number of beneficiaries also received fish corals, fingerlings, mahogany seedlings, agricultural inputs that included rice, corn, vegetables and livestock vitamins, reading eye glasses, hygiene kits, reading materials, and school bags with malong, tendung (hijab), clothing and school supplies.

A mine risk education session, jobs fair, technical-vocational skills training scheduling, and turn-over of socialized housing under the Humanitarian and Development Assistance Program-ARMM were also held.

The ARMM People’s Day, which was started in February 2015, allows the regional government to bring an array of free services closer to the public, especially those in the grassroots, through the joint efforts of the different line agencies. (BUREAU OF PUBLIC INFORMATION – ARMM / MINDANAO EXPOSE’)
