GUINDULUNGAN, Maguindanao --- This local
government opened last January 22 a one-day “One Stop Shop” operation to provide
better and faster government processes for local businessmen who have dealings
with the local government unit, especially in the renewal of business permits
and licenses for 2018.
Mayor Midpantao M.
Midtimbang, Jr. said the “One Stop Shop” helped the local businessmen in
transacting with the local government and in speeding up the processing of
their documents.
“This is purely
good governance. Having all agencies of our local government situated in one
place does not only fast track the delivery of public service but it also made
it convenient for the local businessmen,” Mayor Midtimbang said.
Mayor Midtimbang
said they surpassed their quota collection last year.
“Peace and order
was a big contributor, the reason we surpassed our quota last 2017 of P125,000,
but we managed to reach P150,000. We are very positive this 2018,” Mayor
Midtimbang said.
Misuari Guialudin,
municipal treasurer of Guindulungan, said prior to January 22, there were
several businessmen who already renewed their business permits.
“We had at least
40 registered business establishments last year. Now we are expecting a larger
number since we have catered to new applicants. We are in fact targeting at
least 70 for this year,” Guialudin said.
Government agencies
involved in the one stop shop are those in line with business registration and
renewal process which would give convenience and comfort of business operators.
These agencies are
the Municipal Treasurer’s Office, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator’s
Office, Municipal Engineer’s Office, Municipal Health Office, Municipal Administrator’s
Office, Office of the Environment and Natural Resources, Municipal Agriculture Office,
Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Municipal Police Office.
Guialudin said in
the coming weeks, they will conduct inspection on these establishments,” he
said.
“Inspection on
business will be done, which include sari-sari store, small eateries, and
others,” Guialudin said.
He added that they
will intensify the inspection so all businesses operating without business
permits will be sanctioned.
"Taxes are
the lifeblood of the local government’s programs and social services. The more
taxes we collect from the business community, the more we can provide services
to our constituents," Guialudin said. (GILMHAR
