NORTHERN KABUNTALAN
--- Created on November 29, 2006 but without endowment of Internal
Revenue Allotment (IRA), this municipality continues to celebrate its foundation anniversary, its
12th last November 29 with a program at the town’s municipal gymnasium.
Maguindanao Deputy Governor and founding
mayor, Datu Umbra “Ramil” Dilangalen, greeted the crowd in the foundation day
gathering as he extended his gratitude to all development stakeholders and townfolks
for their support to the municipal government endeavours.
“The
12 years of existence without receiving any IRA from the national government is
not a hindrance for a performing leader to implement more projects sponsored by
our national leaders and those channeled to us by different line-agencies,” he
said.
“As
what you can see and observe, our
municipality right now boasts ofa lot of development and improvements such as
concreting of farm-to-market roads, and stable peace and order condition. You
see, we continue to be progressive and we can say that we are living in a very
peaceful community with unity among our constituents,” he further said.
“Today
also is the turn-over of our newly constructed Municipal Hall Building through
the initiative and efforts of our Congresswoman Bai Sandra A. Sema. And not
only that, she also committed to sponsor the construction of our public market
soon. Further, a bridge will connect us to Mother Kabuntalan Municipality…and a
lot more programs and programs will soon boost our locality through the help
and support of our Congressional representative,” he said.
“But mind you people, all of the
developments, accomplishments, and progress of this community are because of
you my people… without you and your support, I am nothing, as well as your
Mayor Mary Jane Bayam. We owe all of this to all of you, especially to our
municipal councilors, barangay chairmen, and officials as well as the religious sector, academe, municipal government
staff and employees, and department heads, whom, until now are still working
with the local government unit even without the IRA. Still, they are working hand-in-hand
in unity for the betterment of this locality,” the founding mayor added.
Local
chief executive Bayam also expressed her thanks and gratitude to all her staff,
employees and department heads, barangay chairmen, and officials of the
locality for “your untiring and unconditional support of this administration.Without you, our
initiatives could not be realized.”
“Also
to our fellow constituents, stakeholders, religious sector, academe, Department
of Education, senior citizens, and other line-agencies that participated on
this occasion, thank you so much,” she said.
The
week-long celebration included the conduct of modern dance competitions, ball
games, zumba, and other games. The Mutya ng Kabuntalan, beauty and brain
contest, highlighted the foundation anniversary..
Congresswoman
Bai Sandra A. Sema, the keynote speaker, expressed her full support and commitment
to further bolsters the development image of the town through sponsorship or
channelling of more projects and programs for the locality.
She
congratulated the good leadership and governance of Mayor Bayam in spite of the
non-IRA status of the municipality. “But still she is able to manage in
bringing this locality into a progressive, more developed, and peaceful
community. How much more if this town received an IRA regularly… I am sure the
good mayor will do anything to implement more projects to elevate your town and
even to compete with other municipalities in terms of developments,” she added.
